I picked up a Sony Wega 27FS100 last November for ~$430 (there was a $50 coupon in the paper) at BestBuy.
I'm quite happy with it, picture & sound are great, and it has plenty of inputs for my needs, but then I am using it for regular TV & DVD viewing.
Toshiba have a very similarTV at around the same price.

Are you going to use component inputs or just the regular composit inputs?
And how much of a budget do you have?

The Sharp 32U-S600 might be a good buy, its a 36" (weighs 133.4 lbs) with component inputs for ~$450 and give you a hugh screen, of course this might be too big for the room.
