No, it's important regardless -- for the same reason that cable-select chose the end of the cable for the master position: signal termination.

But yes, as I posted, for the empeg it will work either way regardless, due to the short cable lengths. However, in a perfect world, always ensure that the master (0) drive is at the end of the cable.
