Yeah, I found the Parma body and even kept a bookmark for it. But I don't like some of the squared details on their rendition, plus it's smaller than the 1:8 scale I wanted to play around with.
The Tamiya Sand Rover is curvier and more like I remember these types of buggies looking (there are in fact a ton of variations because once the Manx was released a ton of copycats emerged).

I think I might write to the owner to ask actually. It could be a clone/knock-off since a lot of companies copied Tamiya's molds, including for things like wheels and tired (the ones in the pictures are most definitely Tamiya's design).
