Well mine is 330, but I'm sure I saw someone with the indecently low number of 172 somewhere around here...
Number 330 in the queue...

I'm number 49, but I'm sure that there's someone else around here with a lower number.

I think there is only 500 in the 1st batch, but i think they said that they made over 1,000 so don't worry, you'll get one.
btw...I'm 179

You think you're hurtin'?
I'll hold while you all snicker at me...try #8435 on for size...
Hmmm, perhaps I'll get it before the nuclear armaggeddon that will annihilate my car and life as we know it in the year 3281 A.D., then I can enjoy it for a *little* while at least...
(smack forehead) late registration, doh!

Yikes i got 1742, but if the forst production batch really spills out 500 of our babies then i am very optimistic, because i think a high percentage of people "just swinging by, finding it interesting and registering" will not buy it immediatly, its 1000 bucks, guys ! ( Not everyone stroke it rich, most of us have to save their money for it ... )

I got #2854 I guess that's not too bad considering that many people registered will not buy one.

I'm number 491, on the cusp of 500, and have not been notified. Have any of the lower numbers (or higher) been offered to purchase an empeg yet?

Hmm... we may have a deal but I need to better understand what I'm getting.
If I give you $250, you give me you reg #... which is 75 right?
Does that mean I'll get the 75th empegcar player that comes off the line? Do I need to place an order to get the right model, or do you have a particular model ordered already?

After careful review of the preceeding posts here, I seem to be the lowest.
Date: Tue, 22 Sep 1998 00:10:10 +0100 (BST) From: Hugo Fiennes Subject: Re: EMPEG registration Your registration number is: 0035
I was under the impression that they would cost $850 and I was really considering it at that price. I don't want to drop $1,100+ for it. Maybe if it had an AM/FM radio I'd still want it, but I'd rather get a Rio and plug that into my crossover than go without a radio. No matter how big the hard drive is in this thing, you're going to get tired of your tunes, but you won't have any other immediate options.
And another thing, I haven't recieved notice for being able to finally place an order for the unit. Heck, I haven't even recieved Newsletter #8 (much like 2 other newsletters). If the Newsletter system and notification orginazation is so poor, what can we, the consumers expect for Technical Support, Software Updates and Future Development regarding the empeg?
Don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of an in-dash MP3 Player like the empeg. You should be able to tell by my low registration number that I have been following the thing for a -really- long time (way before it even had it's own domain name), but at over a grand and minus a radio, I don't see enough of an advantage for it. If I am wrong, or if you see differently, then please share. I'm still considering purchasing the unit, but am leaning twords a no thanks right now. ________________________________________________________ [- M r S h a n n o n --- http://execpc.com/MrShannon/ -] [---- http://jump.to/rcmp3/ --- http://rcmp3.i.am/ ----] [- mailto:MrShannon@execpc.com - MrShannon@execpc.com -]

I beleive the unit does have an RDS FM radio tuner.
If however you choose not to purchase the unit I will kindly take your place in the queue :-) Or maybe someone should just donate me a free unit for running the BBS!
