Hey Darkstorm, do you smoke cigarettes?

I got my smoke lense in and the dang thing smells like cigarette smoke!

When I started opening the envelope I noticed a cigarette smoke smell and was annoyed. After getting the lense out, I noticed the lense with the tape on it is what smelled!

So either the manufacturing process leaves that smell or Darkstorm keeps the boxes of these suckers in a room where he smokes(a lot)..

I hope my lense doesn't form any tumors in the near future..

Let it air out for a few hours, it will be fine. Surely smoke can not bind to platic like it can to fabric.

I don't know if he smokes or not, but one other possibility. Since the paper / plastic coating is on to protect the surface during the routing, perhaps it was the router.

I have purchased a number of various lenses from him, and I have never noticed anything like that.

I noticed the same smell when I opened mine the other day.

Mine smell like smoke too, but I never would have noticed if you hadn't said anything.

hey guys... come on! how do you think he gets those lenses to look like that? i mean he calls them "smoke" for a reason you know!!!! obviously he's not using artificial colors here! hey, its not like he didn't warn ya!? geeezzz...

just ordered my "smoke" lens today... .and i'll be darned if i'm gonna complain.... <ggg>

only one of us complained. i don't care if it smelled like rancid tuna. i'm just glad somebody took the inituitive to develop different lenses.

Funny, just the other day I noticed that my smoked lens looked like smoke.....

I wasn't complaning..

My lenses turned up smelling strongly of plastic that has recently been routed - which seems reasonable, seeing as how it is plastic that has recently been routed.

No, I don't think the smoking habit is something new. I received my lenses about 3-months ago, and the smell couldn't be missed. These are great lenses. I'm guessing it takes half a cig. to manufacture each lens.

I didn't get the name DarkStorm from a clean-living sunny disposition, I got it for a reason. I have vices like a lot of people so yes I smoke.
Sorry but it is unavoidable especially working for the s.o.b. I do. It takes many vices to stop from getting my Baretta and..... well, that's another rant entirely
