Someone posted a good report of this site a few months back. Just wondering if there are any other positive reports of using them - their price on the Sony 717 camera is about £150 under the best UK price and tempting...

A lot of people on www.avsforum.com use pricejapan for digital projectors. A projector that costs $8k in the US can be had for $5k from Japan. The issue is if you need warranty service. You have to send it back to some guy in Japan who returns it to the store where he bought it, who then send it to the manufacturer and then the process reverses. That's a lot of hands your item has to go through and a lot of downtime for you. Plus, the shipping can be expensive. So that's the risk you take for a better price.

My friend bought a projector from www.rkmediainc.com. He chose them because they are a US company and he could pay directly by credit card instead of having to use PayPal. They don't list as much on their site but I'd guess they can get anything you want for the Japanese cost plus their commission.
