The MK1 came with an FM tuner and amp, serial and usb cable, car docking tray, AC power adaptor, a remote and a couple stickers.
As far as what to look for: they're all the same with the exception of drive size and faceplate color.
There are some MK1 pictures archived on the geek site:http://geek.empeg.com/

Anyone else care to comment?

Alan

The MK1 came with an FM tuner and amp

I think I should clarify that by "amp" he means "FM antenna signal amplifier", not an actual amplifier for the speakers.

Carry on...

I guess no cons involved w/mk1. Does the software need upgrading and will upgrades still be supported since the mk2's arrival?

I don't have a player myself but by reading this BBS I know that it should be upgraded. And if you go to the official empeg site where the downloads are, it is broken down by upgrades for the MKI and MKII. I also have the chance to buy a MKI but since I am out of work at the moment I have to use my money for more important things like a house payment, cat food and gas for the Nova. Oh well, if it is still for sale when I have money to play with again I would consider buying an empeg used myself. I don't think you will be disappointed if you buy it.

Laura

I live to launch.
