Someone's going to yell at you for leaving it in your truck. But I won't.

I believe one of the original thoughts on this happening (it has been mentioned before) is that perhaps a stray IR frequency outside could have "woken up" the empeg, at which point it resumed playing. I'm sure if you search hard enough, you could find the other thread(s) on this topic.

I was half way through writing it when I decided to just close the window.

(But since I'm posting anyway...)

Two things:

1) You mean you leave it in your truck???

2) If it's coming on loud enough to shake your house, then presumably that's the volume you left it at last, and what are you trying to do, wreck your eardrums??? (Asked the guy with tinnitus resulting from listening to music too loud while in high school and university.)

I've had that with V2beta11,13 and a few others. It has been known to happen, but there aren't many clues why.
Step one: don't leave the empeg in the car
step two: change your music. Creed is not right.

I've been publicly castigated before for denigrating someone's musical tastes, so I cannot say that I agree with your sentiment.

I care not about public cas-ti-ga-tions on this BBS, so I will say that I agree with your sentiment. And Bitt does, too.

Is that empeg in standby?

If so, might be a wiring problem.

Exactly. After the empeg goes completely off (see here for a description of the difference between "standby" and "off"), nothing but a power surge to the ignition wire should be able to wake it up again. Not even stray IR.

If your empeg does not go into standby and then into full power off mode when you turn off your car's ignition, fix the wiring until it does.

Hear, hear for Sig. I have a P226. Minnesota just passed "objective" conceal carry legislation yesterday!

It sucks being a libertarian because both major parties generally piss you off, but once in a while we get some good news.

LOL. On the radio a while back they where talking about some band that had performed the night before. I forget who it was at this point, but apparently they where all wearing shirts that said "Even God hates Creed".

Not to mention that you have to be clinically insane to join. (Nothing against libertarian ideals, but every one I've met in person has been a certifiable nutjob.)

I used to be a fan of Creed. My Own Prison is still a good album in my eyes. In fact, I was one helluva Creed fan. I read everything there was to read on them when they first became popular. I can say with almost complete certainty that Creed is not a Christian band. Members of the band do believe in God and are not shy about it, but that is all.

Creed is not a Christian band

Depends on who you ask, but most people will agree that they at least have strong Christian alt-rock influences. Allmusic for example...

"Based on their frequently spiritual lyrics, some observers lumped them in with a new breed of alternative-styled Christian bands that had begun crossing over to the mainstream; however, Creed tried to distance themselves from being pigeonholed as an exclusively religious band out to convert their listeners."

Not that there is anything wrong with that of course and I do like a few of their songs.

I'm not defending the band. Or at least I'm not trying to. I just happen to have read interviews with the band stating that they aren't an actual Christian band. And as for the music, again - My Own Prison will always be a good album.

No they aren't, or at least not based on what I've heard and seen on TV (which of course makes it true). I know that the lead singer's father is a preacher (or something) but I believe that he rejects most of his father's organized religion. I believe this is also the same situation with Collective Soul.

As far as music styles go, I personally don't like Creed at all, but everyone has their own tastes.

Edit: I should have read the entire thread before making the point that everyone has already made. My apologies!

You should go listen to a song by Wierd Al called "Trigger Happy". It's not some crappy ripoff, it's an original Al tune.
