Rather than uploading a bunch of songs onto the HD, THEN setting up a playlist and sending them there, I have set the play list up first and dropped the songs directly into it. Works fine, but I wonder if when I want to play random songs from the entire database, and not from a playlist, will those songs appear?

When you say "entire database", if you mean "pressing down-down-down on the player's front panel", that is playing from a playlist. So your statement is a non-sequitur. When you press down-down-down, it plays the root playlist, as shown in Emplode as "Playlists". So if the songs are children of that playlist, then of course it will work.

The only times pressing down-down-down won't play a song is:

- If the song is in the soup but not in a playlist.

- If the playlist is tagged as ignore as child.

- If the song is wendy filtered.
