Two of the things on the itinerary are meeting at the Campanile bar on Friday night, and then going to the brewery before dinner.
Dunno what the rules are like in that part of the world, but here in the Yew Ess Ay, Rachel wouldn't be allowed in those places. I mean, she's really mature for her age, but I don't think she'd pass for a drinking-age adult.
Hm. Then again, she might. She can really cop an attitude when she wants to...
Anyhoo... What are the rules? I'd hate for her and Jenny to miss out on the ribs.

Well last year the meeting in the hotel bar was pretty relaxed and outdoors so i can see no problem there and as for the ribs it was a resturant more than anything else so that would be okay too but better to see from Rob first.

We meet up at the Campanile bar around 5:30PM, then we head down to town in buses to the brewery. The brewery is a small place, and you are allowed to bring children in. We then leave for the restaurant, which also allows kids. The only issue is buying alcoholic drinks for under-age children (16).
I would suspect you are more likely to have a problem with tiredness: contact me off-list regarding looking after Rachel.

Are you sure about that, Tony?
I believe that children with (drinking age) parents are (legally) allowed into any establishment here (Ontario, Canada) with a liquor license -- think "restaurant".
Cheers

I think it even differs from state to state. But around here, if it's a genuine bar or pub, then no one under 21 is allowed. If it's a restaurant that happens to serve alcohol, then of course the kids are allowed in. But if it's just a bar, then no kids.

Yeah, but they are allowed to join Marines and go to war... Crazy people those Americans (as Obelix would say)

Hey, at least they are no longer required to wait three years to vote after they've been sent to war.

A friend of mine was nearly arrestet (Texas, IIRC) when he had a bottle of beer beside the BBQ-Grill to put a little beer on the steaks. This is very usual in Germany.... The Officer let him go, when he showed his licence to drive as fast as the car can go.
cheers, Thomas

Hey, Amersfoort is in Holland, the Land of free dope. Let Rachel take a good smoke and no problems any more...
cheers, Thomas
P.S.: don't show Jenny this thread, she could cancel the flight.

Yes, or they literally have a bar between the restaurant and the bar/lounge section. Plus, I can't speak to California, but in Washington you have to be at least 18 to get into *any* of the Rib 'n Condom joints.
