I've pieced together a nice little computer for my girlfriend. Sadly, I'm stuck on one last item: the monitor.

Ideally, a nice LCD would be just right sitting next to the Shuttle PC and the MS bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately, it just seems like spending over $340 for a 17" LCD (with a native res that might be too small for her), instead of going with a 19" flat screen CRT for under $200 is just crazy. I can give up the extra inch but I'm not willing (and neither is she) to give up the $150 for a smaller footprint.

So I'd really appreciate some help here. What would be ideal is this:
-19" CRT
-flat screen
-silver colored (would look sooo much better next to the aluminum Shuttle)
-under $250

Is it possible?

Dell branded monitors usually are grey/silver/black to match their cases.

Here is an example

Dell is always running some special of the week. The current one is 10% off and free shipping from the Small Biz store. Check www.techbargains.com for the latest deal.

I find Got Apex? to be the king of Dell coupon codes.

Wow, cool web site. They list a 17" LCD monitor for $240 at Amazon if you play the right games with rebates and coupons.

Thanks, Dylan. We went with the Dell for a total of $230. Not too bad. I've been using a Dell monitor for 4 years and it's still going strong.

Thanks for the site, Rob. I used to use a site that looked just like that one...
