I was at work this morning lstening to Pink Floyd. I stepped away for a few minutes and when I came back the screen was blank as it usually is after 4 minutes of no activity(Hijack). I heard a ticking and thought it was the begining of "Time"....only the ticking never led into any music. I tried to skip forward to the next track to no avail. It moved to the next song but the elapsed time stayed at 0:00 and nothing would play, all the while the ticking continued. I unplugged it and tried to reboot and now the dreaded messege "NO HARD DISK FOUND CONTACT SUPPORT" flashed on the screen. Does this sound like a bad drive? I noticed that when I left work yesterday and slid the unit into the sled in my car the same messege came up. I just pulled it out and reinserted it and it booted up fine. I didn't notice any ticking then. It also worked fine coming to work in the car this morning.
I have a 60 Gb Mk2a with two IBM 30 Gb drives in it.
I am running V2.0 RC develpoer image. Any idea on what might be the problem?

i got that message too. loren was able to fix it for me by checking my hard drive cable connections. i believe there are some threads about this. check riocar.org too.

But was your drive ticking?

i only remember normal hard drive loading/ticking noises but they stopped once i got the messages "NO HARD DISK DECTECTED. CONTACT SUPPORT".
