Right up there with moving house and getting married has got to be losing your mobile.
The annoyance of losing all the numbers from the sim coz you didn't have a system to store them in the computer is just so, so ... well it's REALLY annoying.
Especially when the only number for a girl you just met and want to have a lot more to do with is on there and you have to track her down through her work and ask them to call her to call you.

It's a loooong story, but after meeting this girl while heading for an event in town (Riverfire, where they let of millions of dollars of fireworks) and going our separate ways, I traked her down thru her work. The down side is that she has a boyfriend, but he's over 3000Km away in Adelaide. I'm just hoping that she can't maintain this 'relationship' as they've only been 'going out' for two months and she wants to stay here in Brisbane.

Gifts to here work might be a bit forward at this time and also a security threat (she's a nurse in an ICU).

Have a bad automobile accident and ask for that hospital, but make sure you do it when she is working! That also might get you some extra brownie points since she has to take care of you!

All I know is I sent my wife a half-dozen roses to her work-place two weeks after we started dating and that earned me quite a number of "points". Girls (mostly) love flowers, but even more when you have to go out of your way to do it (like figuring out where she works).

Yeah, that stuff is good for backing up that's about it. Thankfully they give you that much now. I went nuts trying to sync the numbers and info between phone, palm, and Outlook... Never did get them all the same so I gave up.

Watch out though - some girls are more embarrased than pleased to receive flowers at work, as if they then need to explain their love life to everyone.
I guess to some extent it depends on the workplace environment - a hospital sees a lot of flowers. and they're less likely to attract unwanted attention there than in an office environment.

The official Nokia PC Suite software is only good for providing drivers for other applications to talk to your Nokia phone. The official Nokia Outlook support sucks rocks. I've been using WinFonie Mobile (found using Google and trying several other solutions that I was unhappy with). I paid the shareware fee, and it's been doing the job for me. When I've found weird behavior, I've gotten same-day feedback from the developer, who's actively improving the system.

WinFonie Mobile doesn't work quite as seamlessly as the XTNDConnect software that came with my previous Ericsson T39m, but it's good enough for me.

I'd be hesistant to send flowers to a girl who's officially "dating" somebody else, even if it is long distance. On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with meeting up for lunch or some other innocuous activity. If one thing leads to another, then that's all for the better.

Oddly, it works really well for me. I've been using Outlook 2000, connected to an Exchange server. Nokia PC Suite 5.10 with my Nokia 6100, connected with the USB cable (which actually has a serial/USB converter in the plug).

When I tried the Nokia PC Suite's sync tool, it got confused by my repeating appointments (e.g., class on Mondays and Wednesdays), and it freaked out at the large size of my contacts list. I already have a subset of my contacts tagged "Sync", which I was able to convince the Ericsson software to pay attention to. There appears to be no comparable setting on the Nokia software.

Yeah. I agree that the Nokia software just about works. If you don't have the simplest case for what they're aiming for then it'll do really weird things.

The Ericsson (XTNDConnect or however you capitalise it) software was much better. It wasn't brilliant but was definately much better than the Nokia software. It was better integrated with Outlook for one.

The old software for my R520m was able to sync the contacts and appointments properly and also had the ability to download the SMS messages into Outlook. The software that comes with my 7650 is useless, then again the 7650 isn't the best thing in the world. The 7650 insists that you sort your phonebook lastname, firstname.

Woo... Lucky I did do that backup. The phone has decided to fry it's SIM interface and I've got a replacement coming tommorow. The backup is from a week or so ago but still better than my ancient backup which was about 3 months ago
