Came across this script on the SLIMP3 boards recently, and forgot to post it here. Basically it's a PERL script that will search the Amazon.com SOAP interface and download the CD cover to a jpg and slap it in your album directory based on your ID3 tags.

This is amazingly awesome for the SLIMP3 player in that the web interface shows the album art if it's in the directory... but i'm not sure if anyone else would find it useful. It's saved me countless hours of doing this by hand so far.

Anyhow, there it is... it works... it's cool... the author is a nice guy. Check it out.

Last weekend I'd written a script to screen scrape allmusic.com, and seen that the hit rate was very poor for album covers (worked great for artist's pictures). This saves me the trouble of saving some 800 jpegs by hand. Thanks!

Sorry if I missed the thead, but was there ever a program that displayed Album art on the Empeg as say a panning image? (like the escher vis.)

nope. would be cool, but i'm not sure how much you could actually make out on with a 4 color low res screen.
