With all of the other problems in the world, at last the formula for perfect toast has been identified!!!

I must completely disagree with this, for reasons expressed in my Butter Thread.

I started the thread because:
a) I like soft butter that will more easily melt on toast
b) I like butter spread evenly on toast. Why have butter on toast if there will be areas with no butter on it?

Plus, if I just place pads of cold butter in places on the toast, I assume that there will be heat transfer, and the overall temperature of the toast will drop. I don't much like cold toast.

However, I must concede to the results of the poll, as twice the amount of people who leave it out said that they leave the butter in the fridge. So I suppose the scientists would be right in saying "most" people. But don't forget us 34%!!

Damn it, they misappropriated an apostrophe!
Researchers' found that people think the perfect piece of toast should have partly melted butter patches on it, improving its taste and texture.

What belongs to researchers in that sentence?

I hate to start another thread on grammar, but...

should the aprostophe be before the 's' or after? Researcher's papers or Researchers' papers?

It depends. One researcher would render "researcher's" and multiple would render "researchers'" Basically the second is "researchers's" with the extra s simplified away, but the apostrophe retained in the correct position.

Shouldn't there be no apostrophe since there is nothing which is belonging to the "Researchers"? It should only be pluralized by adding the 's'.
