Okay guys.. (and gals!) .. Re-doing my music collection once and for all - sure.

Anyways, came across an unusual circumstance:
I have a few Remix CD's of an artist. I have an identical song on two of these CDs. Not really an issue, EXCEPT that on the two CDs, each is given a DIFFERENT "Remix Version" name..
What to do? I don't need to have the same song twice. Though I could - I'm not tight on drive space or anything..

And, also, how come all the Japanese CD's have more tracks than the US equivalents? That just annoys me. Makes me want to go out and get those extra tracks!

Me.

I've run across similar situations once or twice, and, as I'm sure you've noticed, if you change the name of the track in one place, it changes it everywhere else, too. It'd be nice if that weren't the case, but I understand the technical decision involved.

The only thing you can do is upload the track twice or be happy with one name for both locations.

Me too. Nirvana released an entire CD in Japan called Hormoaning. It wasn't really a big deal since it only had 6 or 7 tracks on it, but it cost me $30 (at the time) to get it here.

If anyone has a copy of A Perfect Circle's Mer De Noms with the extra bonus CD attached and want to sell, let me know. It was released in Europe somewhere.

I think there are multiple versions of Hormoaning. Mine only has 3 songs on it, yet it's the same cover as this one.

That's odd. I'll have to check which one I have. They don't have it in their discography there.

I think I'll go for the former option.. Drive space isn't THAT cramped. I'm going to look at the CD's tonight and see if different folks get credited for the tracks. It may be a mis-print/mis-press..

Me.

I'd do it twice. But - for me - I set my "playlists" as one per artist folder from my hard drive. That burrows down into the different albums by an artist, and then into the songs. It would take me more time to set something special up for two albums to "play" the same song than to just leave it alone and load it twice.

The same issue is just being discussed on the Karma forum on Riovolution ... Pretty tricky problem.
