I remenber the first explanations, more than a year ago, about why the empeg could not get an AM tuner. But reading to Rob's last bulletin (the 17th), now we CAN get an AM tuner. Can anyone explain why now it is possible? Sure it has something to do with the new module being a separate unit, insnt'it?

That's part of it, yes. But another, larger part of it is that production issues delayed the FM-only tuner, and a design rework was necessary. They decided that since they had to rework it anyhow, they'd try to source some AM/FM parts and work those into the design. So that's what you'll be able to get.

Please note that the AM/FM tuner module is not yet available, they are still working on it as of this writing. I do not know its due date.

The Mk.1 won't work with an AM tuner because the digital noise inside the unit would stomp all over the band. The Mk.2 has an external tuner module - problem solved.

There were other issues with sourcing the parts, but we have a supplier now.
