Hello all. Let's assume for a minute that I have a humongaloid directory structure (tree) full of MP3's and let's assume that they are all missing ID3 tags. What is the best program to use for filling in the tags? Are there any command line utilities for this sort of thing? IN particular, I'd like to know what tool will let me put the same value into a particular field of multiple files. For example, if a given dir has all the songs from a certain album, then the year, artist, genre and source fields all need the same value for that album. I'd like to be able to type it in once and easily populate multiple files with the same info. The only thing needing to be different is the song name...which is usually already close to correct.

Which tool?

I use Dr. Tag. It fixed all my invalid v2 tag problems. It supports multiple files, multiple sub-dirs, etc. Undo, too. Intelligent tag creation from filename, too.
