ianken_ms new poster Registered: 24/02/2003 Posts: 2	I've to the Mk2 unit with the tuner. RDS used to display the station ID at the top and whatever data they had at the bottom. Now the content that is at the bottom of the display (artists, song, etc) is being displayed at the top where the call sign is. I assume this is a result of inept RDS deployment in the US. So, is there a way around this? I cannot locate any options which allow me to disable RDS updates for the top of the radio display, or to disable RDS altogether.

It's illegal too for car-stereos to show rds-text, which contains the scrolling infos like artist, title and more. The driver would be distracted too much. But you can buy some, which do show it. Only ONCE have I seen it displayed correctly, and why that particular radio station managed to get ONE song right but not the rest is beyond me! az_max new poster Registered: 18/01/2002 Posts: 27	I listen to 8 stations here in PHX: 3 don't use RDS 1 uses it to display call sign 4 scroll artist info, etc These 4 constantly corrupt the name field on the presets. If I switch over to Info, only something that completely fills the display (for rds char) displays correctly, the rest of the time I have orphaned characters or character on top of character in the display. One displays info so fast, it gets maybe two characters on the screen in the line mode before it snaps back to start the redraw again. I would very much like to get rid of RDS.
