A few years back, my wife got me the greatest gift ever... a 1:18 die-cast model of a Subaru WRX. It is silver just like my car. She gets me nice clothes all the time, and got this toy as a joke kinda but I love it more than anything! Kinda gets to her I think!

She also has a red VW Beetle like her RL car. I've also managed to track down a black Silverado pickup, just like the one I use for work everyday. All are 1:18 scale.

But I'm having trouble tracking down the last few cars I need (I'd like to have ones matching my cars through out the years..). I need:

1970 Ford Mustang (white, grande)
1989 Ford Escort, 2-door, LX, Dark Red
2000 Ford Focus, Sedan, Silver

I'm thinking the Ford Escort is going to be the hardest to find. Nobody was excited to own one of these things. All I can find are the cooler UK ones... The looked like this in the USA.

Anyone have any inside scoops?

When I owned my white VW GTI, I actually went to a hobby shop and located a plastic kit of a GTI just so I could make one exactly like my car. The kit had the euro headlights/grille instead of the US one, so I scratchbuilt those parts. Painted the cloth inserts on the seats the same way as my car and everything. I really loved that car, I guess...

Haven't bothered to do the same with my Honda. Doesn't seem worth it...

Check out this site... I have had great luck finding rare die cast cars here. Sometimes they can be a little pricy but they have excellent specials.

1970 Mustang - white
1989 Ford Escort - no luck (found a 1992 Escort)

This site has the Ford you need, may need painting however...

2000 Ford Focus, Sedan, Silver

Okay the 1990's escort was fords first attempt at a world car that is one that could be sold the same throughout the planet however the escort didn't quite work as the us model shred 3 components with the euro model 1 of which was a badge.

Now the Foruc WRC is actually homologated with US bumpers as they are bigger at the front for a bigger intercooler and splitter for a slight aero advantage over the euro ones

I guess it's hard getting "normal" versions of cars. The Focus you found was the 3-door hatchback. I did some searching at a Focus enthusiast site for "die-cast sedan" and many people said that one has never been made yet.. sad. And Ford just changed the body style so I'm guessing that nobody will make one ever.

My 1970 Mustang as a "normal" one, and not a Boss 302, but I might take Tony's advice and find a model and modify it.

I just thought it'd be cool to have a little case of all the cheap cars I've driven over the hears and show my kids one day "that's what daddy used to drive" or "daddy has some really good stories about this one" lol.

The only car I have driven that there is no model for is the 1976 Chevy Nova. For some reason the Japanese think the old Datsuns are cute or something... There has been a major release of every Datsun I have ever driven:

Datsun 510 (race, 4 door, 2 door - no wagons though)
Datsun 521 truck
Datsun 620 truck (in normal body style and full 4 door king cab truck)

Most models are in various sizes of diecast 1:64 cars but I do have a rare 1:87 Datsun 510 and a rare motorized 1:18 Datsun 510. We have even received new releases of plastic model kits from Revell and new diecasts from Muscle Machines within the past year.See my website for 70% of the available Datsun 510, 521 and 620 models. It does not show the unavailable models, yet...

Maybe with enough support there will be a Ford Fockus release...
