I don’t recall seeing that before. seems in the lower left of the seek tool....on some trance tracks, it will start to beat in time with the base kick. Does this serve more of a purpose, other then just blink? How hard would it be to connect that to a serial output that can control a power supply which would drive some crazy dancing lights?

by the way, does anyone know where the data is stored for the graphic that is created when the tune is played using the seek tool?

Yeah, on the dynamic data partition, in the same general neighborhood as the plays count, marked for attention flag, etc. Unfortunately, no information has been released about what the format of the seek tool data is, so we can't do anything interesting with it.

dynamic data partition is what i thought, but if that's the case, wont we run out of space there? How much space is allowed there?

The seek tool data is tiny, like 16 bytes or something, and the space is already set aside for each FID. There is a limit on the # of FIDs on the dynamic data partition, but it's pretty high.

sounds good, but i my origional question is still not fully answered, about the beating circle in the lower left. Has anyone been able to tie that output to some outboard light controler? lol

There's no programmatic interface which user applications can use to determine the status of the "beating circle". That means an app would probably have to do something ugly like screen-scrape the status of the circle itself. Not something I'd tackle, probably.
