I just received my player back from having its display board replaced
(Thanks Rob and everyone for the quick service, it's very bright now!)
However, after pressing the right arrow button just a couple
of times, it became stuck. I managed to fix the problem by slightly
loosening the screws on the face plate. Anyone else see this problem?

I forgot to also mention that if I turn the front screws
down tight, the problem comes back. I should also note that even
with the screws lossened a few turns, the faceplate still
feels snug and not at all loose.

I too had that problem the first week i had the player, but it magically disappeared after a while. i had to pry the right button up quite a few times. Not that that helps you, but just thought i'd chime in and say it happened to me as well. Hasn't happened since though =]

My problem actually started as the upper parts of the handle rubbing and leaving a white mess there. I adjusted the faceplate so it no longer rubbed but then the buttons stick. So, I choose the lesser of two evil and put up with the white (plastic?) mess.

The button problem is quite common, and is due to the fact that the faceplate deforms slightly when screwed down tight, thus causing the clearance around the buttons to become less than required.

I believe that the problem is caused by the plastic supports on the rear of the moulding not being in quite the right place, thus allowing some parts of the moulding to be pulled closer to the front of the Empeg than others, resulting in a slight bowing of the faceplate.

As you've already mentioned, loosening the screws cures this problem as it allows the panel to become flat again as the tension is released.

One solution is to use some threadlock on the screws to keep them in the ideal position. My Empeg was delivered with exactly this fix already in place.

I think that later Empegs don't suffer from the problem quite as badly, due to a slightly modified moulding.
