Last weekend, I saw Blues Traveler at Ceaser's Tahoe. Was a great show.

During one particular song, they brought a local Lake Tahoe guitarist onto the stage to play with them. His name is Trey Stone and he was really good.

He's won a grammy for songwriting, and he's recorded with Bootsy Collins and George Clinton among others. Someone that talented surely must have some albums of his own to sell. But I can't find anything on the web about him other than notes of his appearances at various venues like this one.

Googling will get you a lot of Matt Stone/Trey Parker references if you're not careful. Allmusic.com only lists him on other people's albums, and Amazon and CDBaby don't have any listings for him.

Anyone know of anywhere else I can look?

I will acknowledge that there's a possibility that he simply doesn't have any albums to sell. But I doubt that. I want to make sure I've exhausted all of my research avenues before giving up.

Sorry, Tony. I tried my usual resource, GEMM, and turned up with nothing. That's not usually a good sign. It's funny that he's done that well and played with all these big names, and you can't get his stuff anywhere.

Ooo, I did find an album he's on:

*edit*
of course, I have no idea if that's actually him.

Another option is to show up at one of his regular haunts and ask him directly. Next time I'm in Tahoe I'll see if I can do that.

I was able to find his old website via the web archive.

www.sirius.com/~strat3/TREYSTONE.html

In 2001, his band was called BlueNote and he was playing with Unkle Funkle also. A web search on the former shows too many hits for Blue Note records to make the search useful. The second shows a band called Unkle Funkle playing at William´s Back Door Blues Club inside Bill's Lake Tahoe Casino Thursday night at 9pm. I believe that it's a current schedule.

Yeah, I think he does Friday and Saturday nights at a casino bar called "Pub Tahoe". I'm most likely to be in Tahoe on a Saturday so that'd be my best bet.

Thanks for the other info, I'll look into that.
