After having my empeg gather dust in a cupboard since March last year, it's finally getting a new home in my MX5 on Saturday thanks to those nice chaps at Cambridge Car Audio.
I just hope I can remember how to work it

Cool!!!
This must be empeg weekend then, cos mine is going in too, I'm too tight to pay for it doing so I'm doing it myself. I've finished making up the harness for one of Rob's Black Docks, and have more or less everthing ready to go.
Good luck with yours, you mean you haven't been using yours as a network player for the past year! The shame! The shame

Cristian: "you mean you haven't been using yours as a network player for the past year! The shame!"
I assumed he meant the car, not the player. Who would use a car without the empeg? The empeg without a car, on the other hand, is still a great piece of kit...

I've had the Smart for 2 months without an empeg in, a car just aint a car without an empeg, can't wait to get it in.
Cheers

I've been using my PC as a network player
And I had forgotten how to use my empeg. Formatted the hard drives then uploaded everything again but couldn't figurte out why I couldn't see anything on there.
Now I've created some playlists it's all coming flooding back to me

My car doesn't even have a stereo let alone an empeg or a heater, doors, roof, power steering, power brakes, abs, traction control, carpets, seats that move, glovebox, cup holder, ash tray etc

Looks like a bit silver gaping hole with loads of wires behind it. Does't bother me though.

Wah Hey Me too!!!!
Finally got the whole setup in and working, only a few minor cosmetics to sort out, you will notice the side pieces are missing down the side of the headunit and the empeg. They have been fabricated from the original dash parts (cut up ) but all attempts to get them to stay put have failed so far, Milliput did work for a while, any other suggestions would be welcome.
Also just in case anyone is interested, that's an iPaq 2210 in a TomTom Cradle and the new Nokia CK-7W Car Kit with both a cradle and Bluetooth options.
I'm amazed all the wiring fitted behind the Dash, it is very very tight, really glad I put that fan in the empeg, it's going to need it.
One thing the photo doesn't show is the set of phono sockets fitted below the phone cradle, so I can plug the Karma in on shorter trips, and I've used one of Rob's Black Sleds to finish the job of nicely.
Phew!
Cris.

Nice. Are you using TomTom Navigator 3? It's one of my best purchases after the empeg

No, I wish I was! I'm using NavMan at the moment, it's a bit rubbish so I'm thinking of changing to TT3 soon. I've got a bluetooth GPS unit, so I went for the cradle that looked the neatest and kept the iPaq well held.
NavMan does the job, but there are very few extras behind the program, for example you can only go from A to B and not onto C, that needs a seperate trip planning. What's TT3 like???
I had wired the headphone jack upto one of the inputs on the headunit, but it's loud enough on it's own as long as the music isn't too loud

TT3 is fantastic. Much much better than the NavMan stuff

Lol
The Sony Headunit has an amp built in and I went for the Smart Audio upgrade when I bought it so the speakers are pretty good, there are 2 bass speakers under the dash and 2 tweeters at the front that bounce off the windscreen.
I ordered a lead with a crossover built in from a guy in Germany to save the tweeters, sounds pretty good.
I'm happy with the job so far, just need to find a way to attach those damm side bits
Cheers
