Okay, then it's clear you're going about it all wrong.
You shouldn't need anyone to help, just plug the empeg into your
sound card's line input, not the video card's A/V inputs. As was said before, this is done with
this cable.
If you don't know where your sound card's line input is, you should look at the manual that came with your computer. Sometimes the sound card is built in to the computer and it isn't a separate card. In that case, the line input will be one of the 1/8" plugs near the keyboard and USB inputs on the back of the computer. It will probably have a symbol that looks like this:

Odds are, your speakers are plugged in very near to it. The speakers are probably plugged into an output which has a symbol looking like this:

Once you have it plugged it in, you turn up the empeg to 0db volume, and use the sound applet in windows (it will be a little speaker icon in your task bar) to adjust the volume of the "line in".
