After years of working perfectly well my tuner is now misbehaving.

It can still pick up the stations OK on FM and MW (quality is fine) but it is showing no signal strength at all on both bands.
The makes it do an AF search roughly every 30 seconds on FM.

Also the volume on the FM band has reduced by a considerable amount, but not on MW.

I know the car has a built in signal amplifier as the aerial is wired into the rear windscreen. However, I dont think it could be this as all the stations are being picked up OK, just low volume on the FM and no signal strength indicator.

Anyone had a similar problem or an idea what it could be?
Is there a separate wire between the empeg and tuner for the signal strength?
