What will be / is the frequency range of the FM tuner component for the Mk2 player ? Will it go down as far as 76MHz or 73MHz to cover the Japanese FM Radio range ?

I didn't know that about Japanese frequencies. Interesting.

Here in the states, the bottom frequency on the FM dial is one of the frequencies used by broadcast VHF television. It's in the 80's somewhere, and I don't remember whether it corresponds to TV channel 6 or channel 9. I used to love it because I could get one of the Northern California PBS stations on an old car radio I used to have.

Sorry, the FM module only tunes down to 87.5Mhz - to cover the Japanese band we would need a different module, and as we hardly sell any players to Japan we can't justify the development cost at the moment.

It's TV Channel VHF/6. I know this only because I used to listen to the evening news back (where I grew up in NY) on the radio in the car. :)

In New Zealand you can buy a converter to shift the FM frequency band up 10MHz so that you can listen to the NZ radio stations on radios in second hand cars imported from Japan. Maybe you can buy/build something similar shift them down 10MHz so that you can listen to the radio on an empeg in Japan. The only downside is that the Display still shows the "wrong" frequency, but I'm sure you know how to add and subtract 10 ;-)

They also bring us Xena Warrior Princess. But I heard that they had to import *massive* generators and infrastructure to support it. They diverted the power supply to Auckland for several weeks to keep the show going

I have been to NZ twice, but being an organized tour, wasn't able to see the best parts. It is a beautiful place.
