Hello Amazon... I would like to send 30 copys of Black's Law Dictionary to my best friend in Nigeria. Yeah, don't bother to check the validity of the order. Just run the card on account for $2,000+ and ask questions later.

If Amazon was taking orders by phone, this would have been the exchange. Luckily the card on account was a debit card with a limit of $500/day so the charge was declined. Now I have to get a hold of Amazon and sort this out.

That sucks but it's lucky the moron tried to charge over the limit otherwise you would have to deal with the bank to get the money back.

Bummer I had a card stolen once and it was really a pain. They actually got several smaller transactions to go through though.

Not to make light of your situation, but I do have a few questions:
-What kind of person finds buying 30 lawbooks more entertaining than just about anything else you can do with $2,000?
-What would a person do with a U.S. law book in Nigeria?
-What is the deal with that review?

Every morning, without fail, I get a series of e-mails from Nigeria offering to share the fortune of a dead government minister/farmer/mine owner/relative with me, if I'll only open a bank account etc.
Only this week, some guy near to here believed the con. and got done for fifty grand.
Most of these are naive, mispelt , ill-reasoned and generally hard to believe.
Maybe, they need the law books to make their emails more convincing, preparatory to an onslaught on the US market!
Somewhere, there's a website where a guy who followed up one of these e-mails, posted - it makes amusing reading!

That's completely negated any prospect of productivity from this Company today, thank goodness it's quiet in the middle of August!

Holy cow. That site is amazing. It's so strange to read the words of these people outright lying to one another. I know it's always a scam when I get in my email, but I just ignore it and go one. Seeing the chains of emails makes it so much more real- and sickening- to me.

The scary thing is that it is not just the money they are after. Although that does play a large role in it.

Ok, I think this is kind of funny. I was just surfing around the site and happend upon a post where they were describing ways to bait scammers. One thing these guys do is "accidently" send the scammers an email to the effect of


Father Joe,
I would like to donate $25,000 to your cause, please tell me where to send the cash.


Which of course results in a scammer impersonating "Father Joe" and trying to cash in. The thing is, now the whole "scam" and its "rules" were cooked up by the reverse-scammer so they can make up whatever problems they want. Very clever.

I click on his other reviews and found a bunch fo crazy, non-sensical reviews that had nothing t do with the products. If you like unrelated humor, you might get a kick out of it. I did, and I can't figure out why.
