I'm buying a MK2a with no hdd from a friend. Perfect conditions. All oroginal accessories.
What would a fair market price be?

I'm happy to be part of the multi-empeg owners club, now

You have to consider that the drives in an empeg don't add much value since they are almost an expendable commodity i.e. they go out of date reasonably quickly and are easily replaced. Sure there's a difference between a 200GB and 20GB empeg because of the price of the 100GB drives. But when you are talking 20GB vs 0GB there's not much extra room to move. How much can you get a used 20GB laptop drive for these days? $30-50? If that?

That said I would pay somewhere around US$300 I think for a driveless empeg. But then I'm cheap...

Depends if it comes with the sled and accessories. I'm not aware of too many driveless empegs that have sold, but I recently paid 200 for one (but am still waiting for it) that had no sled or remote.

I too was thinking of $ 300.
Yes, it does come with all original accessories: sled, remote, ac adapter (US plug, but I'm in Italy. Not a big problem at all, though), original cd.

I think that's a fair price considering you have the know how to install a drive yourself.

If shipping wasn't so much, I'd take that AC adapter off your hands.

Yeah, $300 sounds about right. I haven't been up on prices lately, but I'd hope that $300 is near the floor of driveless empeg pricing. I'd hate to see such a tecnological gem slip below the price of a typical CD headunit.
