Ok, so I finally took my car apart last night to move the Empeg from the glovebox to a better place in the dashboard. Everything seems fine except one of the wires has come out of the connector. Its the purple wire that runs to the white connector ... should I be terribly worried about this? And what does it mean?

There was a known problem with some of the connectors coming undone, and they later changed their manufacturing procedure (by soldering in addition to crimping) to compensate.

If I understand the architecture correctly, the white connector is for the FM tuner module, right? If you don't plan on adding the FM tuner module, then there's nothing to worry about.

However, if that wire came out, I'd be worried that others might, too...

Upon installing a diode cable to solve a negative spike problem, the remote amp power (blue) wire came out of the harness as well as a smaller blue wire. I called empeg yesterday they said they will send me a new harness if i send the defective one back.

The one that broke doesn't look like it was soldered at all and I have a player made in early October (date on docking cage 1/10/00). I am expecting the replacement via air mail in 3 to 4 days. I will post if it's soldered as well as crimped (if I can tell).

one of the wires cam eout of the back of the harness for me duing install, i just soldered it back in, no biggie.

Yeah, I eventually soldered mine back together because it took about 4 weeks to get the replacement. However, when I got the replacement it was much better than the original. They used heat shrink at the top of the connector to group similar wires together. This made the replacement loom look a lot cleaner. However, It appears as if the wires are still only held in by crimping.

I don't feel like taking apart my dash again, so I contacted empeg about keeping both wiring looms. I will keep the replacement as a spare and a reference if any more wires pop out. So far 3 have come loose.

Later looms are both crimped and soldered (after the crimping operation) which helps a lot. We didn't have these looms in stock for quite a while, and so replacement looms were usually hand-soldered in critical places by myself before they went out...
