Since I really don't use it, I'm going to depend on the community on feedback on it. Let me know your thoughts on the existing Announcements and Off Topic feeds, so going forward I can set them up to work well.

I think it's great.

From the "constructive feedback" department, I think it'd be even more useful if it only had one entry per topic, instead of one per post. What I mean is, right now, my RSS feed shows 5 posts from the "Intellectual Property" thread and a few posts from some other threads. I'd rather it would show the last 10 updated *topics* in order, and put the most recent post in that thread in the description field.

Also, I notice the username of the poster is at the end of the "description" field, I'd prefer it at the beginning, like "userid: blah blah blah".

Otherwise, I like it a lot and will make extensive use of it.

Agreed. I use the RSS subscription features in FireFox a lot, so that would really be helpful.

In general, though, excellent addition to the board, Drakino. THank you.

Very cool, thanks D. I agree completely with Tony's requests, those are the same things I was about to ask for.

Google's recently released (this week?) Personalized Home lets users add RSS feeds to their Google front page (click "Personalize your Google homepage", then "Create a Section"). But it only takes .XML links, so the BBS's .RSS links do not work.

It may be a shortcoming on Google's part. Their documentation, not linked from the Personalized Home (aka: "ig") page as always, hardly mentions it, and I haven't looked through their oddly non-Usenet named newsgroups. Or is their service lame compared to a real RSS reader?

Worked for me when I just tried it.
