Please forgive me if this has already been discussed, but I was thinking about the empeg now being a Rio product and all that.. so I thought, probably the fascia will be redesigned , with some kind of Rio logo or maybe a total restyling... any ideas about how it will be? and if we don't like the new design, will there be a possibility to buy an old fashioned mk2 fascia?

Interesting question... I for one have been a little peeved by the "hip-trendy" styling of audio equipment lately. I am from the school of Function over Form, but I seem to be in the minority. Personally, I would hope that if there is any change to the design of the fascia it would be limited. Perhaps only tweaking the "air-foil" design to be more left-seated friendly?

On a similar note... I had to do some searching for a head unit that did not make me sick to look at. Most car audio devices (and portable ones, for that matter) look like they were stripped from a Japanese robot to me. My friend calls his car CD player "Excelsior" since it is chrome and glows neon blue...

Not all of us drive lowered Acuras with neon under lighting...

I think that when Rio bought empeg, they were far more interested in buying the guys@empeg than they were in buying the empeg in-car player.

I'd be surprised if there were any substantial changes in the works -- and if changes are made, it will be our own guys@empeg (with a little advice from us, of course ) making the changes.
