There is a radio show that I listen from the web that uses some type of streaming real audio file.
Can I convert this file to wav so I can put it on my player?

I happen to have Cool Edit Pro and I've had a lot of luck just starting a new recording while playing the Real Audio. I do it for my wife all the time when she comes across Tori Amos interviews. It takes a few tries to get the recording level right, but then I have a nice wav file I can do anything with (crop, normalize, etc). I've even recorded audio from DVDs this way.

Total Recorder will be easier to use, but if you have a program like Cool Edit Pro, it might be worth giving it a shot to save a few dollars.

I'm also looking at using rawavrecorder and this technique

$12 is $12! And with all the countless programs I've tried out from Webcam software to ftp software to winrar, etc, that all adds up pretty quickly. And if I already dished out a lot of cash for something like Cool Edit, I'd prefer to use that for the 2 times a months I need something like Total Recorder. I guess it depends on whether or not you have other options (like I dod with Cool Edit) and your usage (once or twice a month isn't enough for me to justify buying a new program).

I'd also recommend Cool Edit, but unfortunately there is no such thing anymore. It is now Adobe Audition. Fortunately, it looks like Adobe has yet to convert the program to their hideous style of user interface, so I may still recommend it. Still, I hate that Adobe bought it. I love that program.
