I've just discovered that quite a few of my JPEGs are corrupt, I've tried reading them in IrfanView, CoffeCup QuickViewer, Advanced Batch Convertor and Firefox.

I downloaded a programme called PixRecovery but that couldn't repair them, any ideas anyone?

There was a common virus a while ago which corrupted JPGs on your hard disk. It's possible you were infected with that virus.

If that's the case, I'm pretty sure the files are gone with no chance of recovery.

Thanks Tony I haven't found anything to fix 'em yet. Luckily I've found a set of non corrupt ones (I knew 2 sets of offsite backups would come in handy one day)
