I want to upgrade the wireless card in my WET11 to a Senao or EnGenius 2511 Plus EXT 2 but I'm finding it diffcult to find one over here. Anyone willing to get me one and I'll pay them back?

Is that a compact flash card?

I bought an ebuyer value cf card about a year ago and that was a senao card.

It's most likely a MiniPCI card. All the early 802.11g APs used them anyway.

No, it's a PCMCIA card, it lives inside the WET11 with some other stuff to provide the ethernet interface and web config server. It's just an ordinary card with a Prism2 chipset. I wanted to change cards because the EnGenius/Senao cards have more powerful transmitters and more sensitive receivers.

I can't find it easily either, but if you can point me to a seller I can send it over for you.

It looks like Solwise are doing them cheaply in the UK, they're Prism3 cards, but looking on the net they should be backwards compatable. Thanks for the offer Rob, I'll see how I get one with the Solwise one if it's no go then I'll find a supplier and get back to you.

The rev 1 wet11 had the pcmcia card, the rev 2 didn't. I hacked mine with a very heavy hammer.

Got one....

I also took the liberty of applying the well documented PoE hack on it as well.

As a finger in the air comparison my rx signal levels have jumped from low 70's to consistant high 90's. I'll be able to check the tx levels when we install it on the backhaul link.

Very nice, Andy. What instigated this project? I've got a WET11 myself, and it's had better reception than any of my other Linksys products.

I'm building a long range wireless link between two buildings a mile or so apart. Whilst the initial tests were good I didn't get quite the margin I wanted to account for atmospherics, interference and other crap that could affect the reliability of the link. The whole thing has had to be done on the cheap otherwise I'd have bought proper ruggedised outdoor equipment, instead of indoor kit in tupperware boxes. The WET11 is more popular and hackable than the access point it connects to. So beefing up one end only should actually work well.

EDIT: The pictures of the last test are here

Very cool. My wet11 was unreliable at best and crashed during a firmware upgrade, so I smashed it. I have a similar setup to yours but I used two wet54g for the bridging mounted in plastic irrigation controller boxes. POE, of course. I'm hitting an open network I know to be about 2 miles away and not even line of sight at 64%. The antenna is a yagi, I think 18db, bought mostly 'cos it looks like a sawfish snout. For bridges around the office I'm using the netgear game adapter.
