They developed phones to make telegraphing obsolete. Now they say text messaging is faster. Clearly, they're reinventing the telegraph, and loosing:

They developed the keyboard to make handwriting obsolete. Now they say keyboarding is less productive than handwriting on Tablet PCs.

I swear it just goes in cycles. Next we'll see motion-sensor keyboards in thin air (a la Final Fantasy Movie) to replace Tablets, then motion-sensor handwriting in thin air to replace the keyboard version.
