I'm currently running Winamp 2.91. I was doing internet DJing a while back and this was the version to have for Shoutcast. I'm no longer doing that and I'm recently getting a start up message with Winamp that warns me to upgrade due to some security issues.. But I also remember some people saying they had trouble with the 3.00 versions...

Should I ignore the warning message or do you guys recommend another version that is more stable?

Upgrade to 5.x. Yes, 3 was bad. And just like Leisure Suit Larry, there is no 4.

This is, of course, coming from the guy who still uses Winamp 1.55. I love the playlist, what can I say.

The reasoning was something odd like it's got the core of v3 with a v2 style interface and therefore 2 + 3 = 5...

Was v3 ever finished properly? The last time I tried it most of the interface didn't actually do anything. I don't have any third party MP3 player installed at all on my PC now as I use an empeg or squeezebox. On the very rare occasion I need to listen to a MP3 on the PC I just use WMP...

I havn't used Fubar since about... 2000 I guess! Maybe I'll dig that up and try it. There was something about it I didn't like.. but I can't remember what.. Maybe it's been fixed since.

You have to find a script that you like to replace the default UI. I don't use the column UI stuff as I haven't had time to find one I like, but the reason I don't like the ones I have seen is because I have a script to change the way the playlists are displayed using the old interface.
