I'm looking for a PC to set up in my kitchen for quick e-mail, web browsing, a few games but nothing needing a graphics accelerator. Form factor is the major concern for me since I need to either take up counter space or cabinet space to put the case. If I can find a thin enough case I can mount it below the cabinets like one of those kitchen radios, or stand it up next to the wall behind the monitor (planning on getting a small 15" LCD monitor and a tiny keyboard/mouse). I will be connecting it to my wireless LAN, so a PCI slot for a wireless card would be nice, otherwise I can use one of those Linksys adapters to get it on my network. For the processor speed, I doubt I would need anything above a PIII 750ish or so.

Any suggestions? Ideally I'm looking for something under $200. I looked at something like this but they are still kinda big, a square form factor would probably work out better in the end.

Remember how, many years ago, people who bought computers talked about keeping recipies on them?

I love how Kitchen+Computer no longer equals recipies any more.

Well, we have these great things called books! Sometimes the simplest solution is the bestest one.

The cool thing about a recipe computer is that you could ask it "I have these ingredients; what can I make?"

Now I'd buy that....

Computer, I have a Jay cloth, an egg and a cup of washing up powder, what can I make?

NCR, the company I work for, prototyped a microwave that had a PC integrated into it - the door was an LCD display. They also did some tests with a refrigerator that would scan the contents as you put them in, then inventory them and e-mail you when you needed more milk and such. The microwave would look up the barcode of the item you'd placed inside and automatically set the timer and power to match. I don't think they ever went any further than a prototype.

Would a mini-itx board and case do the trick?

It would, but it would kinda go over my budget. Ideally I was looking for a pretty cheap solution, under $500 total with LCD monitor, etc.
