Mine's 098849 313553 .

This is a great game to say the least. This is my first mariokart as well as first online gaming experience.

I really like how it just matches you up with people no chatting required or even possible. I hope they make a 2D fighter with the same system.

Your first Mario Kart? That's a crying shame! Mario Kart has been, without a doubt, a series of the greatest multiplayer gaming moments I've ever experienced. Right from the get-go on the SNES. I have a core group of Mario Kart friends, and I'd hate to tally the total number of hours we've spent racing each other.

I hope to be playing the DS version with all of you soon. When the DS Lite gets released I'll definitely be picking one up. I've held off from buying the DS mainly because it's so bulky.

What you need is a DS with the game, and a Wireless Access Point with a route to the Internet. Read more about it here (Wikipedia), or here (Nintendo). A friend code is basically a registered 'key' that is a mashup of the serial number of your DS and the serial number of the game. This way, you can register your mates friend codes on your DS and it will know if they are online at the same time so you can play each other. You can also play with random people from all over the world.

Mine is 133225-079899.

Does anybody know if the Nintendo DS supports WPA, besides WEP?

I was very close to buying a nintendo ds yesterday, but something held me back:

There's 5 shops in this town that sell it, 3 of which belong to the same franchise.
First i went to check the prices, every single shop sold it for 149.99€.
Allright i thought, guess that's the price nintendo is forcing them to charge.

There's no package deals with a game included, so i had to find a 1st game with it. My choice was 'New super mario bros.' Price: 42.50€ !!, again exactly the same price in all those shops. At that point i just decided not to buy it.

I may end up buying one with one of those supercards to play downloaded roms.
Or i might just upgrade my palm tungsten E to a T-X or Lifedrive to play LJP
Anyone have a Zodiac for sale?

That is interesting. I always thought us brits always get the raw deal.

I bought my DS from play.com and paid exactly what you would have at the high street (£99 =~ €148) except I also got a bundled copy of Bomberman DS. I got my copy of New Super Mario from there too (great game!) and paid £25, which is ~€38. It was all free delivery too.

My friend has a Zodiac 2. He uses it to watch TV shows on SD Card with TCPMP and also has TomTom installed for Satnav with a Bluetooth GPS. It makes a reasonable navigation device with its big screen, but there is no car charger so it is quite limited to short trips only. With some emulators installed it is a fun toy but is still not really all that fast. Don't pay too much for one.

I caved in, and bought a black ds-lite anyways in another shop.
The ds was 149.99€ again, and 'New super mario bros' was a bit cheaper at 39.99€
Now i'm going to try to find a good 'backup solution'

Post back when you find one, I'd be interested in running homebrew apps and emulators on mine. Last time I looked into DS hacking I came away very confused with how it actually works and what I need.
