How much are you looking for?

Edit: Oops I just read 'free'.

If its still available I could provide it with a good home with my dad.

I'll get in line behind Phil if he ends up not taking it. I finally convinced my dad to get broadband once I demonstrated Vonage but he'll need a router too.

If you're need is greater than mine then I'm happy to let you take it. My dad hasn't even got anything in place yet - I'm just forward thinking for once!

Sorry, forgot about this. So come on who needs it more?

I'm happy to send to either.

Seriously Brad you grab it. I'll not need one for a few months so no sense it sitting in my cupboard.

Are cable modems the same in the US as they are in the UK? ADSL ones aren't as they've got different firmware for what region you are in.

D-oh! I didn't catch the UK part. Shipping to the US wouldn't be worth it! Sorry about that.

I think the 'I' in DOCSIS stands for international.

EDIT: Nope, but it's an international standard according to Wikipedia.

As frequency allocation band plans differ between US and European CATV systems, DOCSIS standards have been modified for use in Europe; these are published under the name of "EuroDOCSIS". The main differences account for differing TV channel bandwidths; European cable channels conform to PAL TV standards and are 8 MHz wide, whereas in North-America cable channels conform to NTSC standards which specify 6 MHz.

Doesn't look like you can use a UK one in the US.
