I just wanted to mention that I've had an exciting couple of weeks. Two Fridays ago was my last day at the Kennedy Center, and I've since upgraded to a very nice law firm downtown. I'm really excited about the additional responsibilities.

But the bigger news is that I am, as of tonight, engaged to my wonderful girlfriend of five years (she stuck with me that long!). We'll probably be getting married next summer, possibly in the end of June.

I just wanted to share, as I've already told most of my family and friends, and I am quite fond of this community of ours.

I'm in IT, and this was definitely a trade up in almost every way (aside from a slightly longer commute). Previously I was tier 1/2 help desk support. Now I still help out with individual issues, but I'm more of an IT administrator, with control over the servers and even budget issues! I even have a window office on the 8th floor. In DC the 8th floor is high up

Hehe, well knowing my fiancee (that's going to take some getting used to, and "wife" even more so), and how much she dislikes cold weather, I don't see that happening She insists on a summer wedding.
