I searched the FAQ for "sort" and got nothing useful.
Is it possible when using my empeg to sort the tracks alphabetically based on the title, artist, or album, etc?
Let's say my remotes batteries are dead and I need to find a song and I have no idea what playist it is in. Can I just go to some sort of "browse all songs" selection ?
That would be nice. Does it exist n any version of the software?
Thx

I think maybe emphatic can, but other than that I know of no way to do that without a remote. You could create a playlist that just has all the files dumped into it. Or you could go get a new battery.

Yes, with the remote. Press the Search button a few times, and cycle through the options: Search by title, by artist, etc. You don't have to alphanumerically search, you can just scroll through the list.

You can create a playlist of all songs ahead of time in Emplode, then use that playlist. For other categories, just lay out your playlists that way.
If you use Jemplode, you can do the same things with soup playlists.

You should also be able to use the PopUp feature of Hijack to get to all the remote control functions.

Didn't someone implement (or test) front panel search? That's the feature I've been dying for, and I half remember seeing it...

*shrug* I know for a fact that emphatic has the ability to search with the face buttons.

Yeah, I did it in emphatic. It's "enter your initials in Arkanoid" style input. Rotate the knob to select 0-9, click the knob to enter the selected number, hold the knob when you're done. It's kooky, but it works.
