I bought a new MacBook 2.2GHz last week and have noticed in the system log that the NTPD (network time protocol daemon) is adjusting the clock about 3 times per hour. I have not noticed this behavior on my iMac, nor my (home theater)macMini. Here's an example of what I'm seeing:

2/16/08 9:51:22 PM ntpd[13] time reset +0.485430 s
2/16/08 10:15:50 PM ntpd[13] time reset +0.530196 s
2/16/08 10:35:08 PM ntpd[13] time reset +0.485360 s
2/16/08 10:55:10 PM ntpd[13] time reset +0.546441 s
2/16/08 11:16:50 PM ntpd[13] time reset +0.516380 s
2/16/08 11:44:50 PM ntpd[13] time reset +0.632714 s
2/17/08 12:07:01 AM ntpd[13] time reset +0.484723 s
2/17/08 12:27:30 AM ntpd[13] time reset +0.481069 s
2/17/08 12:48:39 AM ntpd[13] time reset +0.455014 s
2/17/08 1:02:54 AM ntpd[13] time reset +0.498921 s
2/17/08 1:26:43 AM ntpd[13] time reset +0.597541 s
2/17/08 1:45:18 AM ntpd[13] time reset +0.433822 s
2/17/08 2:01:42 AM ntpd[13] time reset +0.477892 s

So I'm wondering if anyone else out there with either a MacBook or a MacBook Pro is seeing anything similar going on with their system? I'm still running 10.5.1, btw.

If I remember rightly I spotted someone in a comment on Slashdot complaining about the same thing, though I think they were on 10.5.2

Actually, my Airport Extreme even does that. I thought it was pretty funny that it could lose about 45 seconds in a day.

Assuming you saw these in /var/log/system.log, I don't have them on my MBPro 2.4GHz.

I had to check the archived logs, looks like my MBPro witn 10.5.2 adjusts about once a day, never more then about a quarter of a second.
