A friend of mine has found 4 still-sealed originally boxed 10GB units in his loft while he was clearing out, and has asked me to mention this. He wants to sell them, but I'm not sure what the current going rate is. Thoughts?

Patrick, I don't know what the "market" is on a 10G, but please count me in. I only have 3 Empegs. Need 4. No reasonable offer refused. Waiting on delivery of 2nd remote display kit so I can install in a Cessna Which I will then of course need to buy. Then learn how to fly.

I am interested in one of the new empegs. I do have two already; one with 8 years use and one rarely used backup. Still, both have slight problems, and I'd really like to have a pristine one for posterity. I do plan to use empeg in car for the rest of my life, so I'd better have extra in case one wears out. Not likely, I know.

To avoid taking an empeg from someone in greater need, I can put my spare up for sale. The only "problem" with it is the IDE header was resoldered. Heck, that's not a problem, that's a feature.

Please let me know the price, in miserably worthless US $.

The joke was that you share your first name and initial letter with a certain Mr Paul Allen of Microsoft fame who was in the past rumoured to be an empeg owner. That is why people were talking about personal 757s and the like. It wasn't anything personal.
