Any particular reason it has to be a Mk1? The Mk2/2a does everything a Mk1 does and more.

Hi,
The reason we wanted a mk1 is we are doing a short film on mp3 player history.
We have a mk2 (superb it is too!) but would very much like a mk1 to include.
If there are no sellers, but you have a (working!) mk1 that we might come and video, or could borrow,(u.k.only), for a fee, please p.m. me!

Many Thanks

Paul

I may have one I'm willing to part with, but I'm in the US and thought you were looking for one in the UK. Let me know if you're interested and what your price range is.

(I'm almost ashamed to admit, I can't remember if I have one or two Mk I's, I "Collected Them All" then I think I came across a good deal on a Mk I)

His problem is that he doesn't want the LATEST software, he wants the OLDEST software.

Thanks to Matthew I got a mark 1 for my client's film.
I was so impressed with it - now I want one!
I love the "engineered" look of the mk1 rather than manufactured look of the mk2.
So, if anyone's got a mk1 for sale - I want it!

Cool.

I'm installing my mk1 in my 1966 chevy truck and I plan to do a handleless install, making a rectangular replacement lens in place of the T shaped one...

Probably that would be easy to do with a mk2 as well...

With no handle, how do you easily remove from vehicle for adding songs, updating software, etc? Are you going to do all that while its docked in the truck?

It's possible to run a serial cable and a USB cable out from behind the dash to a laptop. :-)

Or even put a wireless ethernet bridge in the glove box.

Wireless is what I've done with my mk2. I'm not to worried about the truck, it'll only have oldies on it. It's also really easy to reach up behind the dash, so I can release the player that way.
