Does anyone have a recommendation for a video capture device suitable for digitising VHS tapes using a VHS player (or even a standalone device if one exists)?

Preferably via USB/FW, must work on a MacBook.

Thanks.

Canopus ADVC110, we have several and I can't fault them. They're also bi-directional.

While checking their website to make sure that was still a current model I notice they now have an ADVC55 which is just video to dv so is probably cheaper.

Thanks Andy, I have iMovie HD (version 6.0.3), so that should work fine with the ADVC55 or 110.

They appear as DV capture devices, so you just plug them in, no need for drivers. They should work fine with iMovie.
