There's a hackfest for the Nokia N8x0 community May 30-31 + Friday night party (29th).

I'll be there and there's a group of us developing Mer, an Ubuntu/Debian port to the devices with a focus on open-ness and touch UIs.

We have Mer working on:
* N8x0
* SmartQ5 http://www.engadget.com/tag/SmartQ5/
* Freerunner
* Beagleboards

The SmartQ5 and SmartQ7 are very interesting; $150 devices the chinese manufacturer is being very very open and helpful (including donating free + cheap devices to developers).
