Can you help me or point me in the right direction for support.

empeg Mk2
Serial No. 0688

When I first got my empeg I tried ethernet and it worked fine.
I've been using USB for months (just convenient from the laptop) but recently upgraded to 1.03 and wanted to try DisplayServer so I tried to put the empeg on the ethernet network. It didn't work!

Using emplode I configured the player to a specific ip address (same subnet as my pc) and configured emplode options to connect via the specific ip address. emplode does NOT find the empeg on ethernet.

Serial port and USB are fine.
I tried reloading ver 1.01 consumer image but just the same problem
I am currently running ver 1.03 developer image for the Mark 2

I have a 10/100 auto switching hub 1 pc has a 3com 10M card the other pc a 10/100
I confirmed that the lights come on on the back of the empeg and on the hub when connected
I have tried 4 different cat 5 patch leads and a crossover cable
The patch leads work fine with my other pc's and the hub

I connected the empeg with the crossover cable directly to the pc with 10M card and set up a continuous ping to the empeg. I get "request timed out", but when I wiggled the connector in the back of the empeg I got a reply from the ping.
I tried holding the connector firmly in the back of the empeg but the ping reply's are very intermittent
I can't see anything wrong with the pins in the socket, none are bent or out of alignment (they all look the same) I haven't used the ethernet socket much.
So either the connections on the back of the ethernet connector are dodgy or there is a problem with the NIC

How can I resolve this ?
Is it a warranty repair issue?

Many thanks,
CJJ.

Thanks Roger,

email is on it's way. Hopefully I can resolve this quickly.

If it has to go back for repair what sort of turnaround time can I expect. Does anyone have experience of this ?

Cheers,
CJJ.

Yeah, you could say that I've had a bit of experience .

Generally you'll get it back within a week or so - depending on Hugo's availability and shipping times (where you are, etc).

Cheers,

Paul.
