Hello again old friends. I am currently required to move my stash of lit buttons from where they've been stored for years. This is forcing me to evaluate what I should do with them. I can't remember the last time anyone bought any so I trust the community has all the lit buttons they'll ever want.

So, what do I do with 95 lbs of lit buttons? That's 6.6 cubic feet of buttons (and some packing material). That's roughly 38,000 individual colorful pieces.

They're polycarbonate, so I will have a hard time recycling them. They're very specific shapes, so reuse will be tricky. I guess I could dump them in a desert, roll over them with a steam roller and pour concrete over the crumbled bits.

How about trimming the collection down to just a few 100 sets and skipping the rest?

That's the plan. Keep a handful of each and dispose of the rest. But how to properly dispose of them is the question...

How many different colors do you have? I may have an idea for an art installation/project.

Creative ideas:
Fish tank gravel.

Unless the parts float. Then you'll have some colorful faux-scum.

Specific gravity of polycarbonate is 1.2.

I do have an idea, but it only requires the circular buttons.

And time... lots, and lots of time, which I don't have.
