I am in need of a sled. I finally got an old jeep that I can put the Empeg in. I have had a home dock for so long, and now I would like to locate a sled if anyone has a spare they would be willing to let go of. I would rather work a trade of some kind, but I do have a few dollars in paypal.

I don't suppose you might have a tuner (original or PCATS) that you'd be willing to trade?

I am in Colorado Springs, Colorado (zip is 80916). I do not have a tuner (although one would be nice to have, it would be out of my reach I am sure.

At one point, I needed a sled because I used one empeg in two different vehicles. I found a Euro-DIN sled for a removeable CD player and then trimmed the back to put in an Empeg harness. Worked well.

Is it possible to find one of those with out the cd unit? I am on a tight budget.

Any wrecking yards in your area?

I think I got mine on Ebay, and even with the cd unit, it was like $40, because it was so old. Of course this was 13 years ago. Who knows if you can even find them now. Also, someone on the forums (Shonky?) was selling wiring harnesses too, so those were easier to come by at the time also.

An empeg sold recently on ebay with two sleds. Might be worth contacting the buyer (if ebay allows). Failing that contact the seller to ask if they will put you in contact.

by the way, i don't think i could ever sell my original empeg, with green backlit buttons and spdif out. it sits next to my ipod classic 160gb. lol
